One of Italy’s most famous wine varietals, and meeting all the standards to qualify for the celebrated DOC classification, this montepulciano is from a prestigious Abruzzi vineyard first planted by Princess Margaret of Austria and her husband Price Ottavio Farnese in the 1500’s. The anchient vinyard enjoys unique microclimatic conditions and temperature range enabling the production of rich, complex and consistent wines. Flavours of black and cherry fruits, with hints of vanilla and spice, match brilliantly with a range of foods.
Tasting Notes
Fantini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2020 vintage is ruby red with garnet highlights and intense, persistent marasca cherry and plum flavours with hints of vanilla. Full bodied, well balanced, slightly tannic and long-lasting. The Farnese Fantini Montepulciano D'Abruzzo is ready to drink now and best served with traditional Italian cooking.
