Tasting Notes:
Deep red colour, ruby reflections. The nose is greedy on a
mixture of cherry and blackberry, spicy notes (grey and
white pepper), on delicate aromas of fresh mint and mocha.
The palate is fruity with bright aromas of red fruits, slightly
peppery. The wine is warm and envelops the palate well.
A long and silky finish will make you want to pour a second
glass!
Excellent value for money. Try to get something this good at one of the large wine outlets? You won’t.
Food and Wine pairing:
Cold cuts, pasta in sauce, braised beef with carrots,
eggplant Provencal style
Steaks, barbeques, poultry, cold cuts soft and hard cheeses.
The Wine:
Minervois is an appellation for distinctive red wines from the western Languedoc in France. In general, they are more supple than those produced in Corbières, just to the south. The Minervois title also covers rosé and white wines. The predominant grape varieties used in AOC Minervois wines are Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
