Beautiful deep ruby red in colour on this value-buy Bourgogne. Clean aromas of cherry and gooseberry, with a palate of red fruit, spices, and kirsch. Non-existent tannins and medium acidity with a cranberry finish. Very drinkable. Great value for money. Paired with Peking duck. Terroirs have showcased the Burgundy’s Pinot Noir grape for centuries where it is synonymous with elegance and finesse. The grapes are sourced from plots throughout the region.
Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled vats at 28-30°C with punching of the cap before being aged for 8 to 12 months in oak barrels.
Food and Wine Pairing:
Easily paired with roasted or grilled meats, an assortment of deli meats, or mild cheeses. It goes very well with a spiced lamb stew, vegetable shepherd’s pie or beef carpaccio with parmesan curls. As for cheeses, serve this wine with creamy Neufchâtel or Chaource.
The Wine:
Though the terroirs are very diverse, all the soils are a mix of clay and limestone. The vines are planted in a north-south axis with varying exposure to the sun and at varying altitudes. These factors all contribute to this wine’s aromatic complexity.
